TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT PILOT

15 FEBRUARY 2009: John hosted the pilot of his new primetime Saturday night entertainment show, Tonight's the Night, to be broadcast on BBC1 in the Spring. Co-produced by the BBC and Barrowman Barker Productions, the company set up by John with his manager and friend, Gavin Barker, the show sets out to make people's performance dreams come true. Whether this involves dancing with the cast of a West End show, singing with a pop group, or taking part in a trapeze act, the show realises people's dreams. The public are also given the chance to put right a performance that went wrong, reunite a group, band or choir, or surprise family members with a hidden performance talent. John will also take on a weekly challenge in aid of charity. As part of the pilot show, Jodie Prenger surprised a young fan by joining her in singing a song from The Little Mermaid, PC Bradley Ward was transformed into a big band singer and dancer, and John was challenged to take part in a spectacular firey baton-twirling routine. The full series of six shows films from 22 March 2009 at the BBC Television Centre.
