Press Release from Qdos Entertainment:

John Barrowman and The Krankies to star in the most magical pantomime of them all, Cinderella

The most magical and popular pantomime title of them all – Cinderella – will grace the stage of the SECC Clyde Auditorium this Christmas.

International television, film and recording star John Barrowman will lead the cast in as the loveable and cheeky Buttons in the production which also stars Scottish panto stalwarts and comedy double-act The Krankies, with Jimmy Krankie playing Button's brother, Zip, and Ian Krankie as Baron Hardup!

John Barrowman leads the cast in the Clyde Auditorium pantomime for the fifth consecutive year. John's return follows his acclaimed performances, most recently as Dick McWhittington last Christmas. Since appearing in pantomime, John's year has already been busy, presenting Superstar Dogs and filming John Barrowman's Pet Hospital (filmed at Glasgow University's School of Veterinary Hospital) both for Channel 4. John returns to the cast of Arrow for the CW Network in the USA, is currently recording his new album which is due out in the summer, and will be back in Glasgow later in the Spring filming a new series of his BBC1 game show Pressure Pad.

John said, "For the fifth year running we're back in Glasgow! I'm so excited to be back with Janette and Ian Krankie in our panto home, and to be tackling the role of Buttons in Cinderella. So come on girls, bring your glass slipper and find your Prince!"

The Krankies are known to a generation for their popular 80s children's TV shows including Crackerjack and The Krankies Klub, as well as for their catchphrase 'Fan-Dabi-Dozi'! Earlier this year Janette was honoured with an award for fifty years in show business at The Scottish Showbusiness Benevolent Fund Showbiz Ball.

Jonathan Kiley, executive producer of Cinderella said: "Cinderella is the most magical and popular of all panto titles and gives us the chance to bring more glitter and sparkle to the Clyde Auditorium than ever before! We have already started creating a brand-new script and working on some unique special effects for Cinderella in Glasgow this year, which will have lots of local humour, intertwined with the charming fairytale."

Allan Snedden, Head of Concert and Events, SECC said: "We're delighted to welcome John, the Krankies and cast for a fifth time to the Clyde Auditorium and look forward to another magnificent run later this year."
