I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

John emerges from the jungle

ITV: 18 November-9 December 2018

I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! is a popular British TV reality show, in which celebrities are isolated from the outside world in the Australian jungle. They take on a range of bushtucker trials and physical challenges to win food and occasional treats for their campmates. Viewers vote for contestants to do the trials and ultimately to crown the winner.

Broadcast nightly on ITV over three weeks, the show regularly attracted more than 10 million viewers.

John entered the jungle for the 18th series. He took on the first challenge, collecting flags while hanging from a gantry over a ravine. He then did the "Scary Rose" challenge, finding ten stars in a sunken ship, swimming among water snakes and crocodiles. Half-way through the series, John badly sprained his ankle while heading to the creek to wash crockery and had to leave camp. After a night in hospital for tests to ensure there were no broken bones, John was back in the jungle camp with his ankle heavily strapped, and threw himself back into the show.

John aced all his trials, and viewers voted him into a brilliant third place, with Harry Redknapp crowned King of the Jungle and Emily Atack as runner-up.
