Hollow Earth, John and Carole E Barrowman's first novel for young people was published in the UK by Buster Books on 2 February 2012. Aladdin (the children's division of Simon & Schuster) published the book in the US on 30 October 2012.
In February, John and Carole signed copies of the book for fans in the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, Costco in Watford, Waterstones in Glasgow and Waterstones in Cardiff. Following publication in the US, John and Carole held signing events in Skokie (IL), Naperville (IL), Milwaukee (WI), St Paul (MN) and Palm Springs (CA).
