queen's diamond jubilee thames pageant
On 3 June, over 1000 boats took part in a Thames Pageant to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The lead boat was the Belfry Barge, containing 8 church bells specially cast for the occasion. The bells pealed throughout the journey with churches answering as the barge passed. John was presenting for BBC1 from the Belfry Barge.
