John was thrilled and honoured to be appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in HM The Queen's Birthday Honours 2014. He attended an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on 14 October 2014 to collect the award from HRH The Princess Royal.
John was accompanied to the ceremony by his husband, Scott, and his parents, John and Marion Barrowman.
