29 APRIL 2008: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society. Over 182 years, it has developed a reputation for attracting international speakers including politicians, journalists and broadcasters as well as actors and celebrities - everyone from Bill Clinton to KT Tunstall.

John joined this illustrious group when he was the Union's guest, addressing a packed and enthusiastic house - and giving an impromptu a capella rendition of "De-Lovely"!
